What stands out to me about Nancy Airley is her versatility and range as an actress, her strong work ethic, and her affable, kind nature. She has developed into a very fine musical theatre artist by giving 100% to her preparation and performance. As a student of mine at Edinburgh College, we enjoyed a fruitful, fulfilling relationship because of the respect she gave me and her fellow students throughout the course. I have been fortunate enough to work with Nancy on many occasions, as well as watch her perform in various places and situations. Nancy is a quadruple threat in my opinion - she can dance, sing, act, and play an instrument in equal measures. She takes her time to understand the piece she is about to perform, whether that be a song, a character, or a piece of music, in order that she can pour her heart and soul into it. Everything Nancy performs, she strives to do with perfection. Nancy has been an amazing addition to the team of At the Root Arts CIC. Her welcoming, friendly, and approachable nature has added so much to the workshops this term. The participants love working with her and respond positively to the games and exercises she has facilitated. Nancy plans every game and exercise in detail and is able to think on her feet too. We absolutely loved welcoming her as a student placement and now are working with her as a workshop leader.
